Turning your Word document into a pdf
One thing that we frequently are asked is: "How do I convert my .doc file to a .pdf, for our club newsletter?"
Well, the short answer is: You don't have to run out to buy Adobe Acrobat...
The easiest way I've found to do this is to download a little program called CutePDF. You can find this program, for FREE!, at: http://download.cnet.com/CutePDF-Writer/3000-6675_4-10206470.html?tag=mncol
How it works is that once you have your newsletter formatted in Word, including your pictures, if that's your desire, then you just print it as normal. When your print screen comes up, you will notice that you now have another printer called CutePDF. Select that as your printer and print. It will ask you where you want to save the file, so just select a folder where you can easily find it again, or your desktop.
Now when you open that file (the one you just saved), you will notice that it opens in Adobe Reader. Without the full Adobe Suite you won't be able to edit this file, so if you find a mistake, just fix it in Word and print it to CutePDF again.
